From a young age, Gabriela was an overachiever, immersed in a world of classical music, opera, and various extracurricular activities such as ballet, piano, and foreign languages. Her childhood in Romania was marked by a love for learning, studying English and French from the second grade, and participating in karate and track. However, her life took a dramatic turn when she lost her father in her early teens and a couple of years later she moved to the United States. In college, Gabriela spiraled into a self-destructive path, becoming a functioning rageaholic, drinking and smoking herself into a state of hopelessness. This led to a toxic relationship that shattered her, where she and her family were threatened daily and ultimately became a sex slave.
